Yes that's right, a hundred years. That means your son or grandson can wear that very same pair you own without any hint of its actual shoe age. However, without proper care, genuine leather shoes are prone to the wear and tear of the environment. Basically it's a simple equation, take care of your shoes = 100 years of shoe life.
Let's start with your shoe shine must-haves:

• Towel or Newspaper
• Horsehair shine brush
•Shoe polish applicator brush or cloth
•Cotton balls
•Preferred wax polish brand
Check the condition of the shoes before proceeding to the basic cleaning routine:
•Wrong-colored polish

Make a lather by applying a saddle soap in a circular motion using the shoe applicator brush. Then wipe the lather away using the cloth.
•Wet Shoes

Dry the outside using a towel. Then, get rid of the moisture from the inside by placing crumpled newspaper. Let it dry at room temperature.
•Fortunately, just a dirty pair

The weekly cleaning routine:

Prepare the area by spreading an old towel or newspaper

Dust off your shoes using the horsehair shine brush

Apply a generous amount of wax using the shoe polish applicator brush or
cloth. Allow at least 15 minutes to dry. Then, brush with the horsehair shine brush.

Wet the cotton ball and squeeze out the excess water. Apply the polish on the sides of the sole and heel using the cotton ball.
Make it a habit to rotate a few pairs and invest in wooden shoe trees. It will quickly soak up the perspiration and help you maintain its shape.
